History
The Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts is one of the youngest educational founded in 1975 and was named the Minsk Institute of Culture. In 1993 it was renamed into the Belarusian University of Culture; in 2001 — into the Belarusian State University of Culture; in 2004 — into the Institution of Education “Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts”.
The University holds prestige not only in Belarus but also abroad. In 1999 it was granted the status of the leading university of the national system of education in the sphere of culture.
The University is not only a higher educational institution but it is also a national scientific and pedagogic center of culture and arts, which implements its activity on the basis of humanistic and democratic traditions of native and world science and culture.

Campus Information
Foreign students live in comfortable dormitories near the University. Students live in blocks consisting of two rooms. Every block is equipped with a bath and a lavatory. Two or three foreigners live in a one room.
General quantity of places is 120.
Sports Facilities There is a sport club at the university. Its main purpose is to promote a healthy way of life among students and to involve them into different kinds of sport. Students take part in sports competitions of different levels. In 2007 the building of sport and cultural centre of the University has started. It will enlarge the opportunities of students in the sphere of sport on the higher level. Student Life A great work is being done by the student’s club, which staff initiates and conducts different festivals, creative contests and other mass and cultural actions in the University and out of it. |
