History

Belarusian technical school of physical culture was reorganized in the Institute of physical culture of Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic on June 22, 1937.
BSIFC trained 102 specialists in physical culture and sport up to 1941. Study was interrupted because of World War II. About 200 teachers and students of the university fought in the Soviet Army and partisan detachments.
Immediately afer Minsk was freed from German forces on October the 1st, 1944 institute resumed its operation. Its buildings and sport base was reconstructed mainly by teachers and students.
BSIFC has extended its field base in the following years. New hall of residences, pool, sport centers were built. New building along Pobediteley avenue was constructed in 1983. For sport lessons and leisure activities of students and teachers there are track and field stadiums, gymnasium, playing grounds, football ground, tennis courts in the institute as well as sports and recreational centre on the beach of Driviaty lake — one of the most beautiful places of the Republic of Belarus. The Academy of physical culture was established in April, 1992 on the basis of Belarusian national Red Banner of Labour of the institute of physical culture. It was renamed in Belarusian State Academy of Physical Culture in March, 2001.
By the order of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus the renaming of Belarusian State Academy of Physical Culture into Belarusian State University of Physical Culture took place on the 29 of October, 2003.

Students

There are 6229 students at the university. Among them 83 — foreign students.

Tuition fees (per year)

Pre-university training — $1200. 
Level 1 (fulltime study) — $1900. 
Level 1 (parttime studies) — $1200.
 
Campus Information

Hall of residence rooms shared by two or three person — by request.
One place — $400 per year, depending on conditions the cost of accommodation is calculated individually.

Sports Facilities

Foreign  students  can  take  optional  trainings  in chares of combat sports and special training, swimming, basketball, fencing, boxing, heavy athletics. In the chare of football and hockey different matches with participation of foreign students of BSUPHC and of the other higher education establishments of Minsk are run.

Student Life

Attending museums, theatres, exhibitions in Minsk excursions around Minsk, visiting of National library.
