History

The University was founded as “Minsk Radiotech- nical Institute” (MRTI). In 1993 it was reorganized as Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
In 2004 BSUIR was recognized as the leading institution of high learning in informatics and radioelectronics in the system of national education of the Republic of Belarus. In 2005 as per decision of the Council of Heads of Governments of CIS, BSUIR was recognized as a basic organization throughout CIS in informatics and radioelectronics.
The University is training specialists at 10 faculties and 38 departments in 32 specializations in full-time, evening, part-time and distance training modes. University Master programmes offer 30 specialities, and Ph.D. programmes – 27 specialities.

Tuition fees (per year) 

Preparatory department – $1800. 
Faculties – from $2300.
Faculty of telecommunications in English – from $4250.
Master courses – from $3000.
Master courses in English – from $4000. 
Ph.D – from $3500.

Campus Information

International students are offered accommodation in BSUIR hostels, located within 15 minutes of walking distance from the University.
Living conditions: 2 or 3 persons in a room, kitchen in each room / shared for 3-5 rooms, library, leisure rooms, fitness facility, table tennis rooms, and hobby clubs.

Sports Facilities

The University team is always among the leaders in many sports. University sports facilities include a sports com-plex, a swimming pool, a football field with artificial turf, playgrounds, a wrestling gym, open play grounds, ski depot. BSUIR offers membership in a touristic club, track-and-field athletics, football, mini-football, basketball, volleyball, chess, checkers clubs, participation in competitions in table tennis and billiards.

Student Life

BSUIR Student Union offers membership in 45 creative teams ranging from brass orchestra and folk groups to theatre studio and student television. Various clubs organize entertaining events, offer hobby activities.
During vacations students are offered leisure at the University Recreation Base at Braslau Lakes.
Many tours around Minsk and historical places of Belarus are offered, as well as visits to museums, exhibitions, theatres and concerts.
BSUIR hostels offer membership in clubs: “Erudite”, “Movie club”, Brain Ring, chess and checkers club, art studio, floristry club etc.
