History
The Grodno State Medical University is a historical successor of the Grodno Medical Academy (1775-1781).
The Grodno State Medical Institute was founded in 1958.
In 1999 the Grodno State Medical Institute received accreditation and by the order of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus of February 14, 2000 it was reorganized in the university. It grants the University an opportunity to integrate into Euro- pean educational cooperation. The degrees awarded by the GSMU are recognized by the countries in Western Europe, Asia, Africa and in a number of Arabic countries.

Campus Information
There are 4 halls of residence of block type, two halls of residence of housing type (toilet, shower and kitchen included).
The rooms are designed for 2-3 people; total 300 places are available.

Sports Facilities
There are facilities for playing volleyball, basketball, football and cricket. Student Life Students can participate in the activities organised by the university (the Week of national cultures, the Ms./Mr. university). Near to the main University building an aquapark, a night disco-club “Stop-line”, some bars-cafes, the cinema “Space” are located. |
