History
1973 — Mogilev Technological Institute was founded and the first graduates in “Technology of chemical fibres” wеre turned out.
1985 — The branch of “Chemical technology of high-molecular compounds” chair at UPA “Khimvolokno” was set up.
1990 — Postgraduate course was organized.
1993 — Faculty of retraining specialists was organized.
1995 — Mechanical and Technological faculties were set up after reorganization
1995 — Council for Candidate theses defence was set up.
1996 — Economic faculty was organized.
2001 — Council for Doctorate theses defence began to function.
2002 — The work of State Attestation having been completed, Mogilev Technological Institute was reorganized into Mogilev State University of Foodstuffs.
2003 — Institute of Advancing the qualification and Retraining specialists was set up.
2004 — Faculty of Pre-University education was organized.
2006 Scientific and methodical journal “Bulletin of the Mogilev State University of Foodstuffs” has been published since that time.
2007 — Magistracy was set up.
Students
6898 students are taught at the university (including 8 people from Russian Federation). There are 34 foreign students.
Tuition fees (per year)
Level 1 – from $1000 (full-time studies), from $400 - part-time.
Campus Information
Hostel 1, 2. Campus accommodation is available for all foreign students. Block-type hostel with 6 students living in a room (bathroom) is available.
Sport
Students may use sports facilities. They go in for track and field athletics, skiing, football, volleyball, basketball, handball, karate, free-style wrestling, judo, unarmed self-defence, chess, table tennis, arm-wrestling, tourism; take part in city, regional and republican competitions and take prize-winning places.
“Physical training and sports” chair together with sports club organize all the year-round University sports and athletics meetings in 14 kinds of sports for students and in 8 kinds of sports for tutors and workers.
A training gym, two sports gyms, a stadium with eight 400m running tracks, football playing field with tribunes, a gym campus, sport games grounds with synthetic covering; 6 tennis-courts, hokey-ground, football sports hall are available.
Student Life
Cultural facilities are available for the first year and senior students: festivals “Zolotaya Seredina”, “Lutshij Mechanick”, professional competitions of future engineers-technologists, KVN festivals, university humour parties, amateur production interfaculty’s contents, New Year celebrations, etc.
Students join different clubs and societies:

- literary club “Kutocheck Poesii”
- week end club “ V krugu druzei”
- volunteer’s club “ Miloserdiye”
- “Orion” vocal club
- folk group “Paparat Kvetka”
- intellectual games club

- dancing group “Cooldens”, etc.
Sports camp is available. Students’ hiking and boating across Belarus are organized annually.
